Dr. Rick Mathieu Assumes Position of McColl School of Business Dean

As of July, Dr. Rick Mathieu is the new Dean of the McColl School of Business.

Charlotte, NC (8/15/15) – In July, Dr. Rick Mathieu assumed the position of Dean of the McColl School of Business. He came from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where he served as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the JMU College of Business since 2011, and Department of Computer Information Systems and Business Analytics Department Chair from 2005 - 2011.

Prior to his tenure at James Madison, Dr. Mathieu served as Department Chair and faculty at John Cook College’s Department of Decision Sciences and Management Information Systems, and faculty at the Cameron School of Business at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.  

Dr. Mathieu’s experience extends to departmental, unit, and university strategic planning at the department, unit and university levels, and has performed extensive work in successfully obtaining AACSB accreditation. Dr. Mathieu has been instrumental in curriculum development as well as forging numerous community and university collaborations.

Dr. Mathieu gained his PhD in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia, and his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Cornell University. Dr. Mathieu has published a book, three book chapters, and 37 journal articles.
