Jacob Harbor

“Now that I have accepted a position as an assistant principal, I can say that the relevance of the information learned from the MEL program exceeded my expectations. I have already implemented strategies, ideas, and instructional practices that I learned through the program and plan to implement more as I progress in my new position.

The flexibility of the asynchronous style and the consistency of every course having the same assignment schedule gave me the flexibility to make the coursework fit my classroom teacher schedule.

I would strongly recommend the MEL program at Queens University of Charlotte.”

The decision to pursue a graduate degree is a true commitment to educational prosperity, it is a self-investment…and surely a stepping stone to many future opportunities. When making such an important decision, it is crucial to choose a program as devoted to your success as you are. “The flexibility of the program was the most valuable aspect that made me choose this program. I also enjoyed the 8-week tracks of the classes which gave me the opportunity me to focus on one topic at a time. The assignments were spread out appropriately and in a manageable way.”

Tips for Online Learning Success

  1. Identify a study space that works for you. Some students need a space free of distractions. Many others thrive in shared workspaces like public libraries, coffee shops, and more. You can work wherever suits you best.
  2. Commit to a structured schedule. Having a set time to work can help manage your studies and time. Designate specific time frames (e.g., 3–6 p.m. on Saturdays) for studying and stick to them.
  3. Ensure your support system knows what you need. Whether it’s feedback on a writing assignment or designated times alone to study, let your family and friends know what they can do to support you as you complete your degree.
  4. Connect with professors early. Our professors are here to support you. Reach out to ask any questions about courses and requirements as soon as possible and benefit from their support and mentorship.
