Apply for Employer Tuition Reimbursement

In 2019, 52 percent of employers offered reimbursement for upskilling or reskilling programs, while 69 percent covered most or all of their employees’ tuition costs.1

Ask your HR department or manager if your employer reimburses tuition and add even more value to your company with a new degree.

4 Ways an Online Degree Benefits You and Your Employer

The below list may be useful as you speak with your employer about tuition reimbursement.

1. YOU’LL BECOME A MORE EFFECTIVE EMPLOYEE

As you learn online with Queens, you’ll bring your new skills and insights to work with you starting right away. You don’t have to wait until you graduate to become even more effective team member.

2. IT MAKES FINANCIAL SENSE

Contributing to your education also saves your employer money over interviewing, hiring, and training someone else. And, the IRS reimburses companies up to $5,250 per employee per year for educational expenses.

3. YOU CAN STUDY ON YOUR SCHEDULE

Studying online gives you greater flexibility so you can continue to work while you pursue your studies.

4. YOUR EMPLOYER RETAINS TOP TALENT

Recent research found that employees who had their tuition reimbursed were 8 percent more likely to be retained, while another found those employees were 21 percent more likely to be promoted.2

In short, tuition reimbursement is a benefit that keeps great people around, and it could go a long way toward supporting your academic journey with Queens.
