You will study leadership principles and practices, financial management for nurse leaders, clinical information systems and healthcare data implementation, management and evaluation. Then, you will complete 225 clinical hours in a nursing informatics residency.

  • NUR 662 Financial Management for Nurse Leaders – 3 credits
  • NUR 665 Clinical Information Systems – 3 credits

  • NUR 669 Nursing Informatics Residency – 4 credits

This course examines systems design life cycle, workflow support/analysis, data collection and application of technology to education, clinical simulation, workflow and professional development. Prerequisite: NUR 662.

Course Spotlight: NUR 666 Healthcare Data Implementation, Management and Evaluation

This course examines integration of systems, data warehousing, technical standards, archiving principles, backup processes, analysis, decision support systems and project planning in varied environments. Prerequisite: NUR 665.
